Ray Black's 1961 Beetle

Ray is only the second owner of this car. The first owner was from the central west of New South Wales, and looked after the car very well. It was therefore an easy restoration: new upholstery (tan) and a beautiful new glossy black paint job.

It has its superb, original 40hp engine, which ray says is so quite that he can actually hear the original equipment 6 volt valve radio.

1961 was the first year for the "towel rail" bumpers in Australia.
