Ray Black's 1971 Type 182

This was one of two factory right hand drive cars brought out from Wolfsburg as demo cars for the Australian Army. VW was tendering for the supply of military vehicles.

The Army did not proceed with VW and as a result, the two Type 182's were sold via public tender. This one went to the wilds of Tasmania where it resided for about 12 years. It was then sold to a VW enthusiast in Sydney and after about 10 years Ray bought it from him.

It is in virtually original condition, complete with all military attachments, accessories, including twin air filters. New soft top and side curtains were replaced by Ray in 1997.
